I want my abstract paintings to grab a mood, to excite, to charge the atmosphere with joy. Watercolor was my first adventure, then oils, and now acrylics. Having taught art history for years, I'm motivated mostly by the expressionists and their quest for emotion. I try to remember that painting is fabulous when it isn't terrifying.
